The Mondrian Bobble is inspired by the bold simplicity of Piet Mondrian, one of the most influential artists in the history of modern art. Born in the Netherlands in 1872, he spent decades stripping painting down to its bare essentials — primary colors, black lines, white space — in pursuit of a universal visual harmony he believed could transcend the chaos of the world around him. This needlepoint canvas is a tribute to that singular vision, and to an artist whose grids and color blocks remain as striking and alive today as when he first put them on canvas.
